NJ 07 Lance

Leonard Lance (R) represents the 7th congressional district of New Jersey where over 70,000 individuals, including 20,000 children, receive their health care coverage through Obamacare (ACA) and Medicaid expansion. Yet he voted 19 out of 19 times for ACA repeal to take away their health care. Maybe he forgot 52,000 of them are eligible voters. Let’s remind him by spelling it out for him – and painting him a picture.

NJ-07 is located in the northwestern portion of the state and includes Hunterdon County and portions of Essex, Morris, Somerset, Union, and Warren counties.

In the Presidential race, Hillary Clinton won this district by 1.1%. In the House race, Lance beat his opponent by 38,000 votes, helped in large part by some 21,000 Hillary voters crossing over.

A switch of 19,000 votes (half of 38,000) will defeat Lance in 2018. We can mobilize 71,000 Health Votes to defeat him.

  • 21,000 crossover Hillary votes
  • 27,000 ACA enrolled votes
  • 23,000 Medicaid Expansion votes
  • Total Health Vote: 71,000

With 71,000 Health Votes versus the 19,000 needed to defeat him, Lance’s Vulnerability Ratio is 3.7 (highly vulnerable).

ACT NOW, BEFORE HE VOTES AGAIN. Tweet, Post to his Facebook page, Call, Fax, Write or E-mail Rep. Lance NOW.

Cut-and-paste suggested letter (personalizing helps):

Dear Honorable Representative Lance:

Congratulations on your recent election victory by a margin of 38,000 votes.

I am writing to you out of concern about your position on the Affordable Care Act.

If you vote to repeal the ACA, you will be jeopardizing the health and finances of over 70,000 of your constituents – 20,000 of them children.

If compassion for their lives doesn’t sway you, consider the fact that 50,000 of these individuals are eligible voters. Combined with the 21,000 Hillary voters who crossed over to vote for you – and who strongly support Obamacare – 71,000 Health Votes may be mobilized against you, come 2018.

We hope you will do the right thing by your constituents and be a voice for their ongoing health and financial well-being by voting against ACA repeal.

Sincerely,

(Your name here)
