VA 10 Comstock

VA 10 Comstock

Barbara Comstock (R) represents Virginia’s’s 10th congressional district where over 48,000 individuals receive their health care coverage through the health exchange for Obamacare (ACA). Another 16,000 in the district – including 7,000 children – would be eligible had Virginia opted for Medicaid expansion. Yet she voted 7 out of 7 times for ACA repeal to take away their health care. Maybe she forgot 57,000 of them are eligible voters. Let us remind her by spelling it out for her – and painting her a picture.

VA-10 includes Clarke, Frederick, and Loudon counties as well as Manassas Park city, Manassas city, and Winchester city. Portions of Fairfax and Prince William counties are also included in the district.

In the Presidential race, Hillary Clinton won this district by 10.0%. In the House race, Walters beat her opponent by 23,000 votes, helped in large part by some 31,000 Hillary voters crossing over.

A switch of 11,500 votes (half of 23,000) will defeat Comstock in 2018.  We can mobilize 88,000 Health Votes to defeat her.

  • 31,000 crossover Hillary votes
  • 48,000 ACA enrolled votes
  • 9,000 Medicaid Expansion votes
  • Total Health Vote: 88,000

With 88,000 Health Votes versus the 11,500 needed to defeat her, Comstock’s Vulnerability Ratio is 7.6 (extremely vulnerable).

ACT NOW, BEFORE SHE VOTES AGAIN. Call, Fax, Write or E-mail Rep. Comstock NOW.

Cut-and-paste suggested letter/email/Fax (personalizing helps):

Dear Honorable Representative Comstock:

Congratulations on your recent election victory by a margin of 23,000 votes.

I am writing to you out of concern about your position on the Affordable Care Act.

If you vote to repeal the ACA, you will be jeopardizing the health and finances of over 64,000 of your constituents, including 7,000 children.

If compassion for their lives doesn’t sway you, let me remind you that 57,000 of these individuals are eligible voters. Combined with the 31,000 Hillary voters who crossed over to vote for you – and who strongly support Obamacare – 88,000 Health Votes may be mobilized against you, come 2018.

We hope you will do the right thing by your constituents and be a voice for their ongoing health and financial well-being by voting against ACA repeal.

Sincerely,

(Your name here)
